Question:does anyone have any info on the dee family, originally from Ireland but in yorkshire by 1837.

The Mormons have these. I pasted it to show you why Christian names and birth dates help. Did Grandfather Dee totter over to York in 1837 when he was in his 90′s, or did he move when he was an apprentice, age 14? Was his Christian name James or Thomes? It makes a difference.

best to try genealogy sites like Genes Reunited. They are very useful, i have found people going back to 1850's.

A good place to start is ancestory.co.uk,they have information
from everywhere. You can access records from 1841 census up to 1901 & free births&deaths records going way back.
most other sites ask for a fee up front & are very limited for information.

If you could give a christian name for the head of the Dee family or any unusual names within the family, then any researcher with membership to www.ancestry.co.uk could quite possibly locate them on the 1841 census return. Its worth putting a couple of names up to see what response you get.
