O bhás go críoch, ní críoch ach ath-fhás (Pronounced 'oh vaws guh kreeuk, nee, kreeuk ock o(o as in soft)-aws) It means "From death to end, not end but new life". It's from an Irish hymn called 'Ag Chríost an síol'. I'm Irish, but not religious, I think that line is lovely because you don't have to be Catholic to take comfort from it. My family used this as part of my Dad's funeral mass. It's a beautiful song. You can listen to it on youtube at the link below. try this site http://www.quotegarden.com/sympathy.html Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam. It basically means 'May he rest in peace', it's used quite commonly for funerals and that. Hope that helps. |
