Can anyone tell me what nationality is a person with the last name Cahill- Yi?

May be Chinese, or Taiwanese; probably is not Irish.

Is this a hyphenated name like Smith-Jones, for instance? Is one side Irish and one side Korean?

i would of thought just the Cahill part would be Scottish, i dont know about the Yi part but
