Position:Home>Genealogy> How can I find out my ancestry?

Question:I recently found out that my great grandfather went to angel island (around late 1800s to 1900) before my grandmother was born and i really want to know more about him. i know that he worked at a cleansers or something in california. I want to find out where he worked at, did he remarry, how he died, & etc. Where do you find those investigators in nyc? I don't trust those websites to find your ancestry. Please and Thank You. :]

Start tracking back through your parents. Find out places of birth, marriages, locals of burials, full names. The Mormon church has a huge data base of genealogy. You can access their data base on line.
Good luck

News Papers, Vital static state of NYC, Church Records, Land deeds, Local Genealogy Society where he lived. Just a few ideas
