Many Libraries have a Genealogy area.

on http://www.ancestry.com/ once you find the computer record there, you can order a copy of the record.

County Clerk's office in which the activity occurred, anywhere, USA. You can likely contact the county you need via internet. Beware of services offering you "access" to their "bountiful records". They give you next to nothing while charging you a lot.

Hi, shera... it normally isn't "one stop shopping" if you are getting the record itself. For instance.. I find that WV DOES have death CERTIFICATES online (not necessarily for all dates), but deaths in another state, won't have the same thing. Normally, the only location where the ss # would be relevant is for social security records. It sounds like you have used the ssdi for those pieces of information.
In other words, you have to take each one separately on their own merits, them and place. IF you know the place of birth.. you would google "birth certificates Kentucky" to see the specifics, including the date range, and see if your person fits that criteria.
Each person will be distinct, unless all were born/ died in the same locality.
