Shawn, some things need to be said.
It is next to impossible to read your questions, because I cannot tell what your focus is. Meaning, you leave out the exact things that would help someone find information for you. The MOST important thing is a date and an exact place.
You want information about the Veley/ Vealy family... there is info at genforum, relating to Aaron. It appears that Aaron's line comes from New York. When you mention Mary Robbins.. that would be a different family.
When you make the statement that "there is native in the family", but you cannot find the records... it is completely possible (or even probable), that no such records exist. Your absolute primary goal has to be to find SPECIFIC records about William (date and place of birth, so forth), specific records about George (same for him).
ONCE you have THOSE records, places and dates... only then, can you expect to look at the records for that place. We are not going to "have" those records. The only thing people here are capable of doing, is looking on the internet (just like you).
Looking for "native" records is putting the cart before the horse, and sometimes, that will be completely useless. If you find that the Veley ancestry is completely limited to New York, and perhaps Europe before that, the odds are that none in that family are going to be Metis.
Basically, in genealogy... you don't "know" anything without a record, to make it a fact. It might be that people have "heard" certain things, but those things may be incorrect. All you "know" is what the records show you.
I am sorry to hurt your feelings, but I think it needs explaining, what some of the factors are, that are probably keeping you from getting good results.

  • These details add a lot more to your last question, BUT we still need a few approximate dates so we can try to find some good info. We can't tell if you're talking about the 1930s or the 1730s -- or anywhere inbetween. :)
