I found a family in the 1910 US Census that may be the one you're researching:

Pennsylvania > Fayette > North Union > District 54

Name: Samuel R Martin
Age in 1910: 48
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1862
Birthplace: North Carolina
Relation to Head of House: Head
Father's Birth Place: North Carolina
Mother's Birth Place: North Carolina
Spouse's Name: Eliza J
Home in 1910: North Union, Fayette, Pennsylvania
Marital Status: Married
Race: Black
Gender: Male
Samuel R Martin 48
Eliza J Martin 42
Samuel Martin 16
Roy Martin 13
Mary L Martin 11
Robert H Martin 9
Leulie G Martin 7

18 years is listed for length of marriage -- which would match the 1892 date.

Eliza's birthplace and her parents' birthplaces are all North Carolina. All the children were born in Pennsylvania.

I hope this helps you! (If you're not sure whether this is your family, you'll need to do some additional research to confirm.)

Was the family African American, or was the surname Black for one of their descendants?

I would suggest getting all the census data available 1900, 1910.. any state censuses as well as probate records - as well as reviewing any you might already have - they would likely help point to earlier info.

the immediate census that will have value for you now is the 1900.. where you should find Samuel and Eliza. You will find it shows their place of birth, and the same info for the parents of each (but not the names). You will also find the month and year of birth.
Presumably, both Samuel and Eliza were living with their parents in 1880. From 1900, you will have a decent idea of exactly WHEN they were born (this helps if/when you see two Eliza Cobbs in 1880.. one might be 12 and the other 6... you use the 1900 info to eliminate/ match.
With any luck.. and it is common... one or both of their families will be in the same area as they are, in 1900. If you see a Cobb family immediately next door, it may well be her parents (or a brother).
any time you use a census, look closely at the pattern of birthplaces for the kids. 2st two born Illinois, 2nd two in Ohio, last two in Nebraska (just for analogy).. it provides the trail to follow.
