The best resource I've seen is the book:

"Locating Lost Family Members & Friends : Modern Genealogical Research Techniques for Locating the People of Your Past and Present"
by Kathleen W. Hinckley

Either buy this book (amazon.com has it) or get it through a library. It has dozens of ways to find "lost" people. (and, no, I don't work for her :) )

You could try www.zabasearch.com I think the initial search is free. It is considered unethical to give out this kind of information on the Internet, sorry.

Send a letter snail mail asking them to ring you.

I found my sister just by looking on line at the yellow pages. If that number still doesn't work I say write a letter. Tell the mother why your looking and be sure to include numbers e-mail and address to reach you. Good luck.
