Family to me means a group of people who love eachother very very much =) and they're willing to sacrafice anything-- even themselves for eachother. They give eachother whatever they can, and they provide eachother with a wonderful life =). Small families and large families are equally amazinggg... Small families can sometimes connect more, but when you're in a large family, you bust a gut laughing so hard.

Family means the God ordained entity that starts with MARRIAGE, the union of ONE man and ONE woman in HOLY MATRIMONY, who are IN LOVE with each other, resulting in CHILDREN, who are then nurtured and trained by those parents to hopefully be RESPONSIBLE MATURE ADULTS who will then have THEIR own family!

Family means togetherness, a sacred bond of husband and wife, and parents and children, where they have a place called "home", a place of SAFETY, SECURITY, SANCTITY, and STABILITY, a place where GOD is honoured as the Author of the home, and where the members know and experience REAL LOVE, working through all of the joys and sorrows, pleasures and pains, good times and bad, in order to bring honour and glory to their HEAVENLY Father and His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ!

Does this sound "foreign"? Probably so. at least to most who read this, because sadly, even though what I'm describing here IS the Biblical norm, it is fast becoming a THING OF THE PAST! With all of the divorce, co-habitation, out-of wedlock pregnancies, and sexual promiscuity and perversion that SO ABOUNDS in our day, it's no wonder so many young people are SO CONFUSED about what constitues this thing called "family". But the Spiritual reality of the words David penned in Psalm 127 still hold true in our day: "Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain....Lo, children are an heritage if the LORD,: and the fruit of the womb is his reward."

It's no wonder that there are so many "splintered" and "dysfunctional" families these days! We have subscribed to Frank Sinatra's philosophy in song when it comes to FAMILY, and that is, we "did it OUR way"!!! And like they say, You get what you pay for! How sad! I've seen it in MY family, in my EX WIFE'S family, and in SO MANY OTHERS families! How tragic! But then, I also know MANY who know the REALITY and THE JOY of what I'm talking about as Biblical truth! God's word is STILL relevant, STILL works in 2008!
