Position:Home>Genealogy> Could i be really tall even though my grandpa was like 6'1 but my dad is 5&#

Question:yo so my grandfather on my dads side is 6'1 but his wife (my grandma) is like 5'4 so my dad is 5'9. My mom is 5'5 and her mom is 5'6 and her dad is 5'8. Im currently 3 months away from 15 yrs old and im 5'8 1/2. Do you think at all that it is possible that i will be like 6 foot plus ( like the tallness is recessive gene in my dad and hopefully displayed in me) cuz im really hoping so. DOes anyone know about this stuff?

I think it's possible, but try this calculator for more accurate info.

It also depends on whether you eat nutritious foods as well.

Drink lots of milk and exercise and eat well. Nutrition has a lot to do with height too.

This is the genealogy forum. You did NOT ask a genealogy question. You asked a genetics question. They are not the same thing.

Genealogy is a HISTORICAL body of research of one's ancestors. Anybody can do it without a college education (unless you wish to become a certified professional at it) if they are willing to work at it.

Genetics is a SCIENCE that requires years of college and specialized training to work in the field of genetics.

Genealogists can research and tell you where your 5th great-grandfather Joe Smith was born, but they cannot tell you how tall you will likely be.

Genetic scientists will be able to tell you what your odds are of being tall, but don't have a clue about where your 5th great-grandfather Joe Smith was born.
