Question:I know Ida was married to Wm. Robert Doan in Kentucky. They had 4 children (Girtie, Bertha, George, and Elmer). Elmer was my Grandfather. Somewhere along the line there was an E added to the name Doan(e). My dad says that Ida's mom was a full blooded cherokee indian. Also that the family came from Ireland or England. I found Ida's death certificate #116-53-12863 and it lists the following information:

Ida Doan born Aug. 30, 1872 in Kentucky
Died: June 7/1953 @ 10:15 p.m. in Kentucky
She was a widow at the time of her death
Her father was Fayette Payne and her mother's maiden name was Mary Cummins.
She died of a cerebral Hemorrhage.
She was buried June 9, 1953 at McNeil Cemetery in East Bernstadt, Kentucky
Arrangements were made by House Funeral Home, London, Kentucky.
Information for the death certificate was supplied by her son George Doan.

In looking further I found that her father's actual name was William Lafayette Payne. He was born about 1836 in Grainger County, Tennessee. He married Mary Cummins on March 10, 1859 in Rockcastle County, Kentucky.
They had the following children:
