Could be at the local town hall or maybe old records could be held at the church, you should also try the public records office I believe it's in Somerset House..hope this helps.

possibly Bayton....

Like Mind Bender said in his answer, the parish records are kept at the Archives Library in Shropshire. Here are a few links to sites that will certainly come in useful in your family history research. The first on is for the Shropshire Family History Society, and there is some information about the next meeting in January, the speaker is Andrew George and his subject is "Shropshire sources".

Shrops Record Office is in Shrewsbury - not sure if they are still in the Shirehall in Abbey Foregate.

First of all, don't listen to duff advice about town halls, the public record office or somerset house. The latter doesn't even exist anymore.

All English CofE parish registers are located in the nearest County (Dioceasan) Records Office to where they are. For example, churches in Cheshire send their records to Chester, Essex churches send their stuff to Chelmsford for safekeeping, records in Cornwall can be seen at Truro, and stuff for the county of Shropshire can be seen at the County Record Office in SHREWSBURY. And so on, and so forth. It's not rocket science to work out what county a place is in and where the Records Office is. Most counties have one, and some have more than one, with several smaller branch offices dotted around the county. Essex has several, besides the main one at Chelmsford. So too does Kent, Cumbria and Suffolk to name three more.

Many of these records are on either microfiche or microfilm, which means that many extra copies also exist, and in some cases (if you live too far away for example) you can buy a set yourself and use a microfilm reader a lot nearer home at your own library. Many large libraries keep spare sets of parish records in their Reference section or Local Studies Unit. The Central Library in Manchester for example has a huge collection of microfilms covering not only most of Greater Manchester, but also most of the surrounding areas of Cheshire and Lancashire as well. It is quite possible that copies are dotted around several places in Shropshire, and not just the main Record Office. The Local Family History will probably have copies as well, and so too will the SoG (Society of Genealogists) in London. The Mormons would be able to help you out as well and you could pre-order the film to look at in one of their family history centres.
