You would need to give a bit more information to get the help you need, you will need birth and death dates or a good guess at them and locations, where was your gran born and where did she die. You could edit your question and include the information. I have used Wendy C's information and found all of the ladies with the christian name ILO born in 1908 and registered as living or being born in Indiana, if you have a look at the list and would like me to have a look for further details for any one of them I am happy to help if I can. From this info, you can find her obituary, and should be able to access her death certificate. That will have her parents names. Once you have their names, you can find them in census records. The marriage won't have that much to do with finding her parents, as long as you know this is the right person. edit- uh... justme... she GAVE the info, what grandma's name was, when she died. No edit needed. Look at our father's birth certificate. It always lists the maiden name Do you have any Aunts and uncles to help you? I found that they can give out lots of info. If your dad had any half siblings, they probably could tell you. See if your dad knows which funeral home helped the family with your grandmother's burial. They will have a copy of her death certificate and her obituary. Both of them should help you tremendously in finding out her place of birth, her maiden name, her sister's name, etc. It only takes one call...and it's a call they probably get pretty often. |
