Lovely Norwegian surnames:
- Cappelen
- Moe
- Lie
- Krogh
- Mile
- Leer

But these are only my opinion... No names are really "officially" considered lovely. There are extremely many surnames though. And you're right, the commonest are Hansen, Olsen, Johansen etc. The most popular name in Norway is Jan Johansen ;)

PS. Martinsen is also a surname.

I am not sure what you are trying to do... is the purpose finding your ancestor or what?
Your question is like asking "what is the best English surname for John?"" huh? there are thousands of surnames, if you are looking for ancestry, the best one is the RIGHT one.
I glanced back at your questions relating to different levels. Friendly tip... you have asked a number of questions, that don't make sense because you are not being explicit about what you want or need. Every question costs 5 points. 10 questions that are vague and unanswerable, is points down the drain.
If you are not looking for a Norwegian ancestor named Martin something-or-other, this isn't the best area for your question.
