Information on Patrick McShane, the elder.?

Question:I would like to have information on Patrick McShane, farmer in County Louth, Ireland. He was probably born in the 1820's--30's. Information on him is the stopping place in my family tree. I now have complete information on his son, my great-grandfather, but know nothing about him or his wife.
Family legend says he MAY have been born in County Mayo and moved later to Louth, but we don't know. Any information on him would be very helpful. Thanks to everyone who was so generous with his time in helping me.

The only Patrick McShane I can find a Christening for is 14th May 1818 at Skyhill,Dundalk,LOUTH.
Parents are Thomas McShane and Bridget Traynor.
