NO a DNA test cannot tell you which tribe you come from. The closest it can come is to tell you that you have a certain percentage of markers in common with other people whose DNA they have tested. So if they have samples of known Native American DNA they can tell you that you have a certain number of marker in common with their sampling.

For more information on DNA testing I put together a webpage after doing alot of research.

And so far no Federally Recognized Tribe or Nation will accept DNA testing as proof of Native American ancestry...

a dna test will not tell you what tribe only the percentage of ancestry.

A DNA test will not tell you the tribe. If you were adopted after 1978, then your adoption was subject to ICWA (Indian Child Welfare Act) law. Under ICWA, if there is any known native American heritage in a child placed for adoption, then the tribes must be contacted and given an opportunity to intervene in the adoption. Depending on the state, you may be able to access the court transcript or original affidavits to find out more info.
