Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: FALZON

It is Maltese, and very rare in the uk.

rootsweb.com has over 100 files with entries of the name. You may find relatives there.
Some quick tips... your surname and your ancestry are not the same thing. Your grandparents (4) will all have different surnames (using the ladies' maiden names, since that identifies their family). One of those 4 is named Falzon. Now, going to the gr grandparents, you now have 8.
You have far more relatives than just those with the Falzon name. If gr grandpa had 1 son and 4 daughters, the families of the daughters are still your relatives. You will benefit from knowing who they were (women tend to keep more family history).
Good for you to realize that your nationality is British, since that is your place of birth. Nationality is a political tag, and separate from your heritage.
Most of the time, persons of the same name will not be automatically related. There are exceptions.. your rare name could be one of those.
Have fun.

Nope, but i dont this its as rare as you think

i have to say that ahis is the first time i have even heard your name it is unique

I know some Canadians who do, but in their case they simplified their Italian name.

Go to this site and it will tell you about the frequency and distribution of the name. You are right it is very rare in Britain occuring in 7 people out of every million in 1998. So only about 420 people in the whole of the UK have that surname. Also the name is highly concentrated around the London area and its close environs.

Interesting. I have a direct female ancestor from Malta. Her surname was Bajada. he family moved to Palermo, Sicily and changed it to Baiada, a more "Italian" spelling. My grandmother always thought her ancestry was just Sicilian, but we know people didn't originate from there at the dawn of man!

I'll bet you have some "Falsone" links in Sicily!

I found 24 people with your surname spread across the UK, on the Electoral Roll (approx 3 years old now, so some others have probably been added to it)
Many of them are in London and Home Counties area, post codes NW2, NW1, N1, Enfield, etc. Just a couple in Lancashire.

Wasn't there an actor in Neighbours can Dan Falzon? He played Rick Alessi.

I remember having a crush on him when I was younger but that doesn't really help you!!!
