Question:My grandfather was born there, according to birth records, but, I have not been able to find it. His birth records also indicate that he was born in the "cherokee tribe, indian territory" of Georgia. I will appreciate any help.

says there is a town named Lake Creek in Polk County today. That doesn't mean it was there in your grandfather's time. Georgia has 6 towns named "Lakeside" today, according to the same data base, which will tell you how common it was to name towns "Lake something" in Georgia. That in turn warns you that there may have been other towns or townships named Lake Creek.
