Position:Home>Genealogy> Is sweeney todd a good book?what reading level is it? basically general info on

Question:The character of Sweeney Todd shows up in many books, starting in the 1840s. I'd imagine they'd be fairly easy to read, about as difficult as Charles Dickens, I'd say high school level.

Sweeney Todd is a fictional barber/serial killer in Fleet Street in London, around 1800. He shaves men and slits their throat with the razor. In most versions of the story he has a girlfriend/accomplice named Mrs. Lovett who sells meat pies, and she gets the meat from Sweeney Todd. There was a wonderful musical about it a few years back that I saw on HBO and thoroughly enjoyed. I'm looking forward to the film, partly also because it's Johnny Depp and I like him too.

I would say that it is high school level by content.

I would think you would get a better response in the books & authors forum,
