depending on the state and county you live in, it may be recorded at the local recorder of deeds or clerk of courts office; call and ask. If not, they may point you in the right direction; funeral home may also be of help

If you know where he died, the obituary will tell you of his survivors. You can go to one of them (or the executor of the estate) and explain your situation to them. Another choice is to write the Department of Vital Statistics in the state and request a copy (usually only given to relatives or parties of interest--funeral homes, etc.). The death is a matter of public record.

You should be able to get a obituary on line with a bit of luck, and you can trace his death reference at www.ancestry.co.uk

Good luck and good hunting

Unless you are a child or parent of this person you won't be able to get this record. Vital records have tightened up their release due to identity theft.

EFRAIN DIAZ 11 May 1963 14 Jan 2007 (P) 78405 (Corpus Christi, Nueces, TX) 78102 (Beeville, Bee, TX) 451-13-5322 Texas

I found that name on the SS Death List... if that is your guy it should give you enough information to take it from there.

The Vital Records office or County Clerk's office in the county where he died will have the record. You need to fill out a form and pay your $15-25 (depending on the jurisdiction) and provide ID.
