Position:Home>Genealogy> Where can I find a blank family tree with at least 11 generations?

Question:I'm doing this for history class and my teacher gave a a family tree (the kind shaped like a fan) but it only covers 4 generations, and I need 11. Could someone please tell me where I can find one? Thanks so much.

You won't find one. A tree with 11 generations will have 1,024 boxes at the most distant generation.....would never possibly fit on any form.

What you do is stay with the one your teach gave. Start with you and then fill it in as you can back to your great-grandparents. Then if you have MORE information on any of those grandparents, then use a DIFFERENT chart now with that great-grandparent at the bottom. Repeat that for each great-grandparent you have information for (don't need to do anything for "end of line" people.

Then after that, if any chart has at the 4th generation someone you have even more information on, start another chart with THEM at the bottom.

An 11 generation tree would have 2,047 boxes. In reality, you may believe you have one or two lines back 11 generations, but I strongly suspect you don't have 1024 lines going back that far. If you only let's say have 1 line going back 11 generations and the rest end at say 4, you are going to have about 2,020 blank boxes out of 2,047, not very attractive.

go to google.com, type in genealogy forms. The first one that pops up has lots of free forms that will meet your needs.

Mind Bender said what I was going to, only better. Put a little note on the people on the first chart. If you fill it out completely, you'll have 8 great-grandparents. Number them 1 -8. The note should read "This person is #1 on chart 2n" where "n" is 1 - 8. Repeat the note on the next generation of charts you fill in; "Person #1 here is person # 2n on chart 1".

On chart 2n, again at the end of the 4 generations, make notes pointing to charts 2n1, 2n2, 2n3, etc.

I have attached a link to a sight that has an 8 generation fan chart.

I would also advise taking Mindbender's advice. If you only have one or two family lines that go back 11 generation you are going to have a lot of empty space and that look, well, empty.
