Check with your local library. There are usually folks there that for a fee will do the research. No guarantees that it will be correct no matter who you hire. The best way to do your family tree is to do it yourself. Only you and your family have the answers. If you hire a professional it will be very expensive. More then you may be willing to pay and again no guarantees its correct. One lady hired a pro to do hers, charged her $1500 for 4 generations and 2 generations were incorrect. So the choice is yours.

My suggestion is that you do it yourself. Get the book unpuzzling your past by Emily Croom. Its about $20 and she takes you step by step. Well worth the money. I still use mine from time to time and I've been doing this over 15 yrs.

Documents to prove your line will have to be ordered by you and are expensive if you can get them.

Good luck in what ever you decide to do

find the botanist or something that is related to tree

I have a few different sites to go to

http://www.genealogy.com/index_n.html
http://www.allfamilytree.com/Index_P.asp...
http://www.genealogytoday.com/roots/xweb...

If none of these work let me know and I'll see what I can do hon

Holly N had good advice. I'd add your county genealogical society. You might be able to find a poor but honest widow willing to work for cash for less than a professional would charge you. (Honest when it comes to telling you what she found or didn't find; she may shade the truth a bit when Income Tax time rolls around.) Call or write to the president, explain your needs and ask for a name.

Expect to pay $15 to $20 an hour, with NO GUARANTEE of success, for it to take her 8 - 10 hours to start with, and for you to provide names, maiden names, birth dates and birth places until you got to the 1930 census. (This assumes you are in the USA.)

If you are a first- or second- generation American or African-American, it will be harder than if you are not.

I sell my services every year at our church talent auction. I can usually get back to 1850 on one or two lines in 20 hours of research, spread out over a month. I'm not offering to do your tree for rmoney; I'm giving you an example of how long it will take a serious amateur to do some research.

I recommend the library or your state's genealogical society for referrals. Personally, I would be hesitant to hire someone not recommended by them.

Depends where the research needs to be done. There are some rip-offs out there so be careful. I would suggest someone local. It really depends where you are. Send me an email, I may be able to help.
