San Antonio is a nice peaceful town about 20 minutes drive from Subic Bay. San Antonio is a costal town that is blessed with fine sand beaches and today is known in the Philippines to be one of the better places to go surfing. Most of the population is roman catholic, so there are regular religious processions, events, and fiestas. The town fiesta is usually a celebration of a patron saint at the town church. During the fiesta month of june there would be a big flea market at the town plaza with all sorts of stuff you could buy. At night there would usually be a basketball tournament between barangays (villages) and everyone would go out to cheer their respective teams. It's a very warm experience. During the day of the fiesta itself you can go walk around the whole town and eat at practically anyones house and drink local beer or gin for free! It's like the filipino mardigra! Almost everone knows everyone else anyway, the people of San Antonio are very closely knit, you should try visiting sometime.

My Father is from Iba, Zambales 30 minutes north of San Antonio. We have a beach house there and one of my uncles is the Governor of Zambales now. I'll try to research your family history for you, just e-mail me all the details you know about your relatives here. your mothers complete name, her mother or fathers name what barangay they used to live in when they were still in san antonio or subic and I'll see if i could make you a family tree. If I find any of your relatives here I could take pictures or videos of them and send them to you or i'll upload it to you tube for your benefit. just give me some time to research. I usually go to Zambales twice a month, i would be honored to help a zambalenyo find her roots! keep in touch!
