Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: I'm looking for info on my Great Great Great Grandfather William Anderson married to Anne Venne was a teacher in Fairford

Adding to Jan51610 info...

Anne Venne (b. abt 1848) had in 1851 at least 3 siblings...Seraphim (b. abt. 1841), Ludger (b. abt. 1843) and Aime (b. abt. 1848)

Anne's mother was Aime (b. abt. 1817). There was no male head of household so one can ASSUME her husband had died or maybe divorced by 1851. However, there was a "Marie Begnet (b. abt 1816)" living in the house. An experienced guess would suspect this is probably Aime's sister. If that is the case, then it is POSSIBLE that Aime's maiden name was Begnet...but it is also possible that possible sister Marie had herself married a Begnet and still carried his surname after his death. It is also possible, given the area, the husbands were off somewhere doing their business and Aime and Marie were just together supporting the farm (Aime was a "cultivator") and raising the kids in their husband's absence.
