Question:It's so true! My dad was brought up in a small village in India and he was one of the lucky ones that got of there and was able to get America. Once he came here, all of a sudden we had over 60 new relatives wondering how we were doing. After they asked that they wanted to see if they could borrow some money to get some stuff done. Most of them don't work and they thought that my dad would just take care of them since he had so much money. So in conclusion, with money comes unwanted new relatives.

I would say it is.

Well, the increase in wealth doesn't actually increase your relatives, they either exist or they don't.

However, a sudden increase in wealth will almost certainly increase the number of relatives you KNOW. Because they will find YOU. (Bet you never even realized that you have a 5th cousin 4 times removed did you :-{ )

It will also bring a sudden increase in fake relatives! Just ask anyone who was lucky enough to win the lottery. Since this is public information, most have to change their phone numbers, and hire an assistant to go through their mail to find the legitimate envelopes - just to keep away from the 4,386 cousins they all of the sudden acquired.

I have heard that all my life. I have not experienced it; you could read the Old Testament and you will find a similar pronouncement.

Yes it is, hence the old saying

" WHERE THERE'S A WILL THERE'S A RELATIVE"

Almost all of the people who have won a lottery prize big enough to rate an interview have said so, in the interviews I've read. It is a theory I'd like to test myself, some week when the Lotto tops 40 million . . .
