Ancestry.Com shows the following given as place of origin of Dees immigrants to the United States

Germany 18

England 2

Scotland 2

Wurttemburg 2

Ireland 1

It can be English - variant of deas

Dutch from a short form of the personal name Desiderius

German a short form of the personal name Matthias or in some instances an Americanized form of Diess

Sorry no Dees in my tree - the closest I've got is Rees no relation of comedian Jack?

According to my copy of the Electoral Roll (approx 3 years old) there are 147 people called Dees, over the age of 18, Registered to vote, in the UK
Just looking at them, briefly, most are congregated in the North of the Country.
