Origin of surname 'Obias'?

Hello: Using the mormon database of family info, I see a huge number of Obias families listed in the Phillipines. There is a website of traditional Filipino names, and Obias is not on it, but I would suggest that the name seems to be more common in the Phillipines than anywhere else. Does that fit with your family?

I have to agree with Norm D. It looks like it's Filipino in origin.
