Question:dont seem to appear on any records i live in the uk but i have reaserached at my grandads and local libary in south york shire but i cant find them any where .... can you give me any tips

If you haven't already considered surname mangling, you might want to do so. It wasn't that long ago that being able to read and write wasn't all that common, so you will find records where an illiterate person gave his name to a semi-illiterate clerk and the clerk just gave it his best guess as to the spelling. Two clerks sitting right next to each other might come up with two different spellings.

I just did a cursory check in the UK on the surname and came up with these very common variants...

Dison, Dycen, Dysen and Dysan.

If you haven't considered surname mangling, this might yield some results.

If you are looking for living or recently living people in genealogical records, you won't find any. They keep details of living people hidden, for privacy.

You should be able to find your grandfather's obituary, or, if he is still living, his parents' obituaries. That might get you to people on the 1881 census.
