g-day!

Look in the phone book, either online or the old book. I dunno.

Ancestry.com may help.

I am sorry but I know no one with that last name. Go to people search and type your last name in and it should give ou some names.

I don't know any1 with the same last name as u.Why ru so concerned?

google the name.

ive never heard of it before!

My cousin lives in Spain, I think her friend has that last name, but I don't really know for sure, sorry.

Be thankful that you don't share a surname with the American president. The jokes get old.

There is a professional baseball player named Ugueth "Ugie" Urbina. That's the only other time I've heard it.

No, but I've got a Jesus, Mary and Joseph in my hood. If some doofus moves in with a last name of Pilate I'm moving out of here!

yes i do i have a little cousin who is half Hispanic and his last name is urbina.

i have a friend,but she's french.
her name is sen lissa urbina

Don't know anyone with that last name but if you don't find anyone other than your family members close by with that name it just makes you unique.

I know of a person and I can't remember his first name, but I believe it is Joe from the Rio Grande Valley in Texas. His family is also from the R.G.V. He was a co-worker.

i knew one person with that last name. just type the name in on the internet

Ugueth Urbina

A two-time All-Star, led the National League in saves with 41 in the 1999 season and helped the Florida Marlins win the 2003 World Series

The only one I know is the major league baseball pitcher (formerly of the Red Sox) of the same name.

Try any of the phone listing on the internet (people search, white pages, or the like) or try a "yahoo" or "Google" seach. You'd be amazed at what comes up!

Good Luck!
GO RED SOX

The was a pitcher in Major League Baseball named Ugeth Urbina. I know he had problems with people holding his mother hostage or something like that some time ago. I can't remember where he was from exactally. But personally, I don't know anyone.

i know some people name urbin....they may have dropped the i

It's not that uncommon of a name after all. Doing a quick check of the surname I came up with over 50,000 RECORDS of people with that surname. It does seem that the surname is most prevalent in SouthWestern US, especially Texas, (as it appears to have a lot of attachment to immigration from Mexico).

Of course 50,000 records don't do you much good in finding anything. So you have to use the ONLY way to work your ancestors...and that is

Start with YOU, then your parents, then grandparents, etc. Getting all the information you can from living individuals in your family. Only when you have a solid foundation will you be able to associate any historical document with your family. Just because it is about someone with the same surname, doesn't mean it is associated with your family. I can guarantee that most (maybe all) 50,000 of those records of those with the surname Urbina are not about people in your ancestry.

There's no easy way to do this right. You have to take the time and build a solid foundation from the PRESENT generation (you) and work backwards one step at a time. That's how we all had to do it.

Be careful about surname product peddlers, like coats of arms. They were granted to individuals who passed them on to their sons. See the link below:

http://www.ngsgenealogy.org/comconsumerp...

Anyone who sells them based on your surname alone is guilty of chicanery. They don't belong to surnames. These peddlers all over over the internet.

One of the biggest mistakes people when starting family history make, it to assume everyone with the same surname is somehow related or shares ancestors.

Mind Bender gave you some great advice and deserves best answers.

There are websites with family trees on them. However, don't take everything you see in family trees as a fact. Even when you see the same thing repeatedly by many different submitters, that doesn't mean it is right. A lot of people are copying without verifying. Use the information as clues as to where to get the documentation.

huello i′m from Venezuela anda i know many people with the last neme. is a last name popular in my country

just to expand... the social security death index alone (which shows deaths in the US since about 1960) includes over 600 persons named Urbina. Most of the women will be wives, whose family name is different, just to be fair.
Sweetie.. not being hostile, but you just are not looking in the right places.
Again.. with a very few exceptions, persons with the same name are not always going to be your relatives. Hang out here a while, and several times a day, we have persons doing just what you are... looking for persons with the same name, hoping to magically stumble onto related people and instant family history.
The place to START is with your immediate family. You already know your parents and siblings. Next, identify your grandparents, and their children. Again, you KNOW these are related. So are your cousins, but you don't have to track all of them. From the grandparents, the next step is the great grandparents and their children. You should have noticed off the bat.. your mother's family name is not Urbina, and only one of the grandparents is named Urbina by birth. You are equally part of all the ancestors.
The problem when you try to 'jump' back to gr gr grandparents is this... you have not built your line. Instead, if you follow the steps, each generation back is PROVEN to be connected, ie your own family/ relatives. Saves energy to know that your grandpa Urbina came from (example) Arizona, and THAT is where you will look for a record of his parents. You don't waste time on the persons in NY or Georgia, UNLESS you have found some prior record to lead you there.

Here is one place where persons are working on Urbina. It is relatively small. The best messages show a name and place in the header.. that way, if you have found the names of your gr gr grandparents, you will spot it immediately if a distant relative has posted here.
For the most part, don't look for info on live persons on the internet. Genealogists avoid this, to protect both their own privacy and that of others. Of course, if you find distant relatives, you can share that in private email. It might not even be needed, since you both want to learn about the ancestors.
One more suggestion is www.cyndislist.com, which has THOUSANDS of genealogy resources, as well as beginner tutorials. I think once you understand how to focus what you are looking for, you'll start finding your ancestry in many places.
And be sure to come back here for friends and tips along the way.

Yes, there's a Urbina family tree discussion board just for the surname Urbina.

It's here: http://genforum.genealogy.com/urbina/

I did a google search 'genealogy urbina' and got lots of potentially useful sites. I checked out some, and there were lots of other people searching too, and there were also some replies.

has some info, and a coat of arms which may be of interest to you

There were other options, on sites with membership fees.

To look for other people with the last name, try zabasearch.com The BEST thing to do if you want to find out about your family history is start with your parents and grandparents. Since you have access to a computer, you can get the basic version of Familytreemaker software for around $20 which will allow you to start by filling in what you know about yourself and parents (where born, when, etc.). From there you can track more info by newspaper obituaries and birth announcements. Sometimes you get a 30 or so day trial of ancestry.com's subscription database, which can be invaluable to help as well.

Your local library may also have online access to heritagequest online and/or ancestry.com which may allow you to find out more, especially if you can get back as far as someone born before 1930, which is the last census that was allowed to be open to the public. The 1940 census won't be available until 2012. Of course that's for the U.S., which is where I think you're at. You may even be able to log on at home to these sites, but you'd have to check with your local public library's web site to find out. Familysearch.org, run by the LDS (Mormon) Church is a website that you really should check. a search will result (usually) in a list of different records that they have listed that extend into other countries as well, which may give you an idea where in Spain your family may have been from.

Another place to check is www.usgenweb.org It's a non-profit site run by volunteers and they post a LOT of resources for different areas of the U.S. You could start by going to your parents' home areas and see what you may discover. You could also post questions to the sites, although there's nothing more annoying to most experienced users than a newbie who states that they want "everything you have" on a family name or doesn't give any names and dates of birth, death, etc. Read around the site first to see if you can find anything, use the search engine they usually have for your family name on that particulr county web site, etc. BEFORE you just start posting willy-nilly or pose 30 questions on your first visit. Be respectful and thoughtful in your questions and answers. Many of these people have been doing this for many years and are willing and eager to help, but they have a life as well, so you don't want to overwhelm them. They appreciate eagerness, but a "playful puppy" that jumps up and down and tangles the leash around your legs gets frustrating really quickly and people will then tend to start ignoring your posts!

Other invaluable places to start are the Yahoo! and MSN and Google groups. search for groups dealing with areas your parents and grandparents are from as well as looking for your family name on there! Some groups that don't control their membership do tend to get a lot of spam however, esp MSN groups it seems. I have a site for my main family name and am thinking about adding another yahoo! group for my Mom's maiden name as well, which brings up another point. Don't forget, you are a product of both your Mom and your Dad, so his name is not the only one of importance! That goes for all the maiden names in your family history. But DO NOT post your Mom's maiden name in any public group with the notation that it's your Mom's maiden name. It is also an important security item, esp. with regards to identity and credit! I may message you later with a link or two if I'm lucky enough to see anything with a quick search. Take care and happy ancestor hunting!

No, sorry doesn't sound Spanish really though. But interesting last name! Good Luck! =]
