Interesting Q...I am about 20% Welsh. The rest is English, German and Italian, nice mix, Eh? My father, 100% Italian, when asked, used to say, "what does an Itailian look like"?

the difference between the Welsh, Scottish & Irish, it that Wales is on the same island as England & worse it's a primarily low-lying area. Wales was conquered first & earliest, starting in the 1100's & the last holdouts were annhiliated in 1415.

In contrast - Ireland had the Black sea between them & England & were fairly independent up to 1600's. Eevn at Ireland's occupation was at it's first, they were never as overrun by the English.

likewise Scotland, had Hadrian's wall & the highland to protect them. they entirely independent up to 1700's.

genetic differences like the red hair & freckles of the Irish & Scottish are visible because of the relative isolation of those gene pools in that 500 or 600 years before they were invaded. Wales didn't have that, they were conquered 900 years & they mixed with the English population ever since.

whatever unique genetic characteristics the Welsh had were long since absorbed into the English population. other than through tracing your family tree back to Wales, you'd have to get a DNA to "prove" a genetic heritage in Wales.

I'm 1/4 Welsh, and I have observed that a lot of Welsh people have large chins (Griff Rhys Jones for example.) All of my Welsh relatives have dark hair and relatively tanned skin.

Yes the welsh like the Cornish have dark hair and eyes almost like the Romanies.

Yes the welsh gene or y chyndrome is the highest in all celtic origin higher than ireland england and scotland. This mean that aroudn 88% of welsh dna is purely celtic origin an the celts originated from the mediteranian therefor u'll find alot of dark features in them such as hair and eyes and skin colour.

It varies, but many Welsh people have dark hair and dark eyes with a somewhat swarthy complexion. They tend to be somewhat shorter than the English.
