Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: He married a Mary Blair.

THIS HAS BEEN UPDATED SINCE ORIGINAL ENTRY - CORRECTING SOME ERRORS AND ADDING ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

WWI Draft Registration Card (dtd. Sept 12, 1918) indicates...
Harry Gordon Brumfiel, 377 Second St., Niagra Falls, NY.; Born Sept 24, 1884; Occupation Machine Cooper at East Cooperage Company, Nearest Relative Mare (sic) Brumfiel wife @ same address; brown eyes, black hair.

WWII Draft Registration Card (1942) indicates:
Harry Gordon Brumfiel, 1306 N. Market St., Kokomo, Howard, Indiana; no telephone; place of birth Terra Haute, IN Sept 24, 1884; Person who will always know his address: Emma Nave, 321 East Murden, Kokomo, In.

From 1910 Census District 122, Kokomo Ward 2, Howard, Indiana..

Willis Nave: Head, b. abt. 1871 Indiana; father and mother born Indiana

Emma Nave: wife b. abt. 1862 Indiana; father born Ohio, mother born Pennsylvania. This is her 2nd marriage, this marriage abt. 1898. Had 5 children of which 3 still alive.

Harry Brumfiel: step son b. abt 1885 Indiana. Single

Goldie Brumfiel: step daughter b. abt 1888 Indiana single

Helen Nave: niece b. abt. 1905 Indiana, mother born Ohio, Father born Indiana.

1900 Census District 54, Center, Howard, Indiana
Willis Nave: head, b. July 1864
Emma Nave: wife b. March 1862
James Brumfiel: stepson b. March 1883
Harry Brumfiel: stepson b. Sept 1884
Goldie Brumfiel: stepdau b. Jan 1887

There is an Indiana marriage record indicating:
Emma Jones - Willis A. Nave married Sept 6, 1897 Howard County, Indiana (Book C-8, Page 113)

Analysis (validity is certainly suspect): Willis Nave was Emma's second husband. When they got married, she gave her surname as Jones (probably her birth surname), not Brumfiel as was her children's surname. This indicates that Emma was divorced from ? Brumfiel, vice widowed. If her first husband had died, it is likely she would have retained his surname until her next marriage. Lacking any other information, suggest looking for James Brumfiel as the first husband on the chance that Emma's first born son was named after his father.
