I know a family named Ferreira. If your question were any more explicit I could tell you more, but yes it is Ferreira (pronounced feh-RRAY-rah) and I am quite familiar with the surname. I believe it is of Portuguese origin although there are some families with the surname in Hispano-America also.

never seen Ferriera, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. My friends are Ferreira.
