http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/
is a good resource for scottish genealogy
also, this site has free church records from all over the world including Scotland:
http://www.familysearch.org
Be aware with family search though, that the info has been submitted by LDS members and may not always be accurate.

www.rootsweb.com
I used this site to find my ancestors from the UK/Europe

you might have to sign up, but the site is free

www.familysearch.org has all of the Scottish records in some form, and is a great place to look for Scottish info. You can click on the source for any information you find, and learn whether it is from official Scottish records or from materials submitted by LDS members. If it is submitted, you can use it as a place to start looking for confirmation. Scottish census records are available on microfilm from any Mormon church that has a genealogy library (and most of them do have one), and they are willing to share with the general public at minimal charge to cover shipping microfilms from other branches.
