Question:

WHAT IS ALL THIS WHERE YOU ARE FRoM STUFF?

WHAT AM I? MY MOTHER AND HER PARENTS WERE BORN IN ENGLAND, AND MY FATHER WAS BORN IN ENGLAND, BUT HIS PARENTS WERE BOTH BORN IN IRELAND. AM I IRISH IN ANY WAY?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Yes you have some Irish blood in you, the further back you go the more you will find other nationality's in the mix, Celebrate your heritage all of it, after all it helps make you who you are. do you feel better now??
i hope so, now that youve got that off your chest - lol Now you know why you keep eating potatoes and drinking Guinness. You're a cheesy mackerel Yes, you're part irish. Your father would be 100% irish, even if he was born in England.

At least your family tree isn't as messed up as mine...

My dad was born in Jamaica. His father is from Jamaica, but his mother is American Indian.
My dad was born in England. But her mother is Chinese and her father is apparently part Scottish... I'm a bit of everything!! I assume you are living in America now? Because people tend to ask that question a lot here like, "What is your heritage?" In which case just answer English and Irish, because yes, you are Irish too.

If you are not living in America and someone really just wants to know, answer them with exactly what you just told us! I love these questions. I live in Scotland, formerly known as Albion or Caledonia. I`m not Scottish genetically simply because my genealogy does not conform to the Scotic Tribe or Clan, Who originally came from Spain. I am however of Celtic Decent like the Scots and the Picts and the Albonachs who have all resided within these islands. My family name is recorded in the records of the Irish Pedigrees and the family name is a well known Irish name so I known my family are Irish from the west coast of Ireland. Things can get mixed up when it comes to the Celtic names and clans simply because of the distribution of these peoples. You may well find that your fore bearers are Irish or may be indeed French or Spanish It is worthwhile have a look on some of the genealogy sites as they will guide you. It is fair to say though that the Roman Empire( who indeed used Celtic mercenaries) did chase the Celtic Clans to the very we3stern shores of Europe. This is where Astrix comes from not to mention the Cornish, Welsh, Irish and indeed the Scots who all hailed from Eastern Europe originally That is one of the things that really get to me about America.
When I was there no one ever said 'I am American' it was 'I'm American, Polish, French Irish!
OMG
You are where you were born.
If your parents are Irish and you are born in America you are and American of Irish decent.
Once I met someone in the states and they heard my accent and said gee I'm Irish too, when I asked what part of Ireland they were from they said I don't know, my great great great grandpa was from Ireland!
Duh If a mother cat snuck into an unused oven to have her kittens, they would still be kittens, not muffins. I'd say that by birth you are half Irish, thanks to your father, who is 100% Irish.

By upbringing and custom you are what you are; probably Anglo-Irish American, but if you were stolen by Gypsies when you were 3 days old and sold to a Cherokee couple, you are Cherokee by U&C. If you were lost in the wilderness and raised by wolves, you may feel inclined to scratch yourself and howl at the moon, which would probably upset your English AND your Irish grandparents. I heard of this priest that was born in Liverpool before immigrating to the U. S. Both of his parents were Irish. He would say, " just because a cat has kittens in an oven that doesn't make them biscuits."

However, your nationality is the country of which you are a citizen. Your racial heritage is half English and half Irish. You are English by birth and. possibly of Irish lineage. Do you have an Irish surname? Your question got posted in the genealogy area... maybe you were not aware that it is here, or what it is about.
Genealogy is about tracing your family history, and involves knowing where those ancestors come from. That is a huge part of what 'we' talk about over here.
When people see a question coming in, they often don't take time to read what section it is intended for. yes u probably are irish maybe even full irish but it's possible people in your family married with other english people yeah to out it simply you are irish. your an irish englishman, you will have a little bit of irishness (wrong spelling aint it if the word even exists but you know what i mean) in your personality.
