Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: I found this on www.ancestry.com
Mok
Korean: there is only one Chinese character for the Mok surname, which was much more common in the past than it is today. Many members of the Sach’on Mok clan held prominent government positions in the Koryo period (ad 918–1392) and the subsequent Choson period. The clan’s founding ancestor, Mok Hyo-gi, was a Koryo general.
Chinese : variant of Mo 1.
Dutch: variant of Mock 3.
Hungarian (Mók): from the secular personal name Mók, probably a pet form of Mózes, Hungarian form of Moises.

hope it helps. It comes from a whole lot of places...and no, they're not all related. Countries which Moks listed as their place of national allegiance when the immigrated include:

China
India
Cuba (but apparently half Chinese)
Netherlands
German
Hebrew
Russian
Italy (southern)
Hungarian

The vast majority are pretty evenly split between China and the Netherlands. There were over 1400 coming through New York alone. If you can find out more about your immigrant generation, I'll be happy to help you look them up.
