Question:

Does anyone have any Beatrup's in their family tree? Where does the name come from?

I have only ever found 3 people in the world who are researching the Beatrup line.
I reckon all the UK Beatrups are connected and so far, I believe they came from Denmark or Holland based on the name. What do you out there know?
Thank you!!

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: There are around 19 people in the UK with the surname Beatrup - mainly in Swansea and Halesowen (which is near Birmingham). Have you tried the Birmingham & Midland Society for Genealogy and Heraldry ?
My book of surname origins doesn't list Beatrup but there seem to be a fair few references to the name on the web although I've not yet found the origins.
The Danish version is Baatrup and you'll find several references to this version on the web, too. You are probably right as there are only a few on the 1841 Census for England I would imagine that the if the name came from Holland it would more likely have been Baatrup
