Anyone know where I can find an older obituary? My local on line newspaper only goes back one year.

Ancestry has an obituary collection, but it is by subscription.

There are two or three large nation-wide obit web sites for the USA.

Gracious, considerate people across the country will look up an obit for you, sometimes, if you post a request on a county-level board.

Some libraries will sometimes send you a copy; you need to send them a SASE at least, and sometimes a small fee.

If you live near the town, the fastest, surest way is to go to the public library and look it up yourself on microfilm.
