Can you help me find out whats the family history on my last name, Esoff?

I been looking everywhere and all i get is dead ends or people that want money.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: I could not find much of anything wither for the surname "Esoff" there are a number of people with that last name in the Social Security Death Index. Here is the link for that

What i would recommend is doing a census search using the 1900,1910,1920 or 1930 censuses assuming state of NY because it seems that a lot of them in the Death Index are from there. The census will tell you their place of birth and the place of birth of there parents: state if birth was in U.S. or name of Country if foreign born. I know its a shot in the dark but that is what 75% of Genealogy ends up being most of the time. Good Luck!!
