Question:

Does anyone have any info on a william dowling who was born in Thomastown Killkenny and recieved a VC in 1857?

He is an ancestor of mine.All i know is he recieved the vc for spiking the enemies guns and he died in 1887.If anyone one can give me anymore info ,or is also an ancestor of his ,i would be mch greatful for it
