Do you know the origins of the surname "De Fex"?

Do you know the origins of the surname "De Fex"?

A mailman in Barcelona said it was from Mayorca Islands, Spain. Someone else told me there was a "DeFex" (no space in between), family in Morocco, and once my mother saw in a newspaper a Brazilian family whose name was spelled "De Fez". Plus the cat of my Brazilian friend was also called "Defex" So I'm confussed, does anyone know?
