How do i trace my family history? Ive got names, but i cant figure out where they came from or what they did.?

You have to find that out first. from there you can try to research local information files on background/births deaths etc.. You never know, some relative could've gone to your great X3 grandmothers funeral and you could find out a part of yourself and go from there. Genealogy is a "woven" work so to speak and it's hard to unravel. Good luck.
