Question:

Does this have to do with the father's genes?

I have noticed that in biracial children ,when the mother is white and the father black or mexican etc.and darker skin tone the children are darker but when it's the other way around(the father is white)the children are very fair...I also noticed this in children from couple's with the same ethnic background.Does the tone of the child's skin lean on the father's skin tone?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: One theory states that if children look like their father he will be reassured that they are his and will take better care of them. The mother needs no such reassurance, she gave birth. Over time humans evolved the tendency for children to resemble their fathers because these children had a better chance at survival. This theory was more about facial features but it could extend to skin color.
