Question:

How do you get a free list of all the people on your family tree?

My sister traced our family back to, well a long enough distance to tell that our ancestor was the first black woman in Knott co. I am a white guy and as far as I know I've never had any black people in my family. Not that there's anything wrong with that, I'm just saying I want to know everybody as far as 150-200 years ago. Is there anywhere to do this at online for free? Thank you.

No. Unless you get lucky, there is not a repository of names for every person, showing every branch of each of their family trees anywhere. You could get lucky. The first set of sites is where you might find someone that has already done your tree for 1-2 hundred years.

Normally, Genealogy is done by people that want to learn about thier family and enjoy tracing each person, getting the 'story' behind the name. They are your ancestors, you get a respect for them that way. Best of luck with this.

If you get stuck, post a specific question, like looking for Joe Schmoe in 1889 or something like that.
