I recently met a friend who is adopted and wants to know where her last name is from....help?

She knows her real paternal last name is Borroel. Does anyone know where that last name orginated from?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: It sure does look Spanish/Mexican. I found a few instances of it at rootsweb.com. Here's one:

The surname stops with her, unfortunately, and no parents were listed; but it does show that there was a BORROEL family in Mexico in 1834.
