Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: There are some; they generally are for and about specific family names. But unless you have some idea of the outline (structure) of your tree, this really is the hard way.

I'm sure I haven't convinced you, so go buy the software package "Family Tree Maker" and get the biggest set you can afford (with lots of data CDs). In it is a 30 day membership to Ancestry.com. Build as much of your tree as you can from relatives, then the program and CDs, then activate the Ancestry membership and go like blazes for 30 days.

That's about as most money-efficient you can get. Out of that, you'll get a decent tree with (like most of us) a few zillion holes. Here's a hint: It's never-ending. You can always try to go back further.
