Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Well there are a few ways you can do it .. You can go to www.cyndislist.com.. there is a link for Indian tribes. there are www.rootsweb.com .. But going to the ca government web site .. they might be able to help...... now for money ..... those sites were free... ancestry .com is a pay site but gives you access to stuff you could only dream about finding for free .. Cyndi's list does has stuff .. that is great site .. but ancestry .com is a pay and cost like 40$ a month. you just go there and pick your plan... But I think you can get a free trial and that may tell you if your paying for information that is going to help you on the site.. don't want to pay for it and not have the information.... Is there a Indian tribal office? The tribe office may be able to help .. the town that you lived in ,, that public library ..... genealogy section ... would also be helpful YOU may be able to use the ancestry .com for free in the library. But try your public home town library.. that you lived in ... try them first... and ask the reference section.... then when you have time .. do all the web sites...
