A question for Welsh people?

I'm doing a report on the history of Britain, and I am trying to ascertain if the English primarily descend from the Germanic Anglo-Saxon invaders, or if they actually descend mainly from native Celtic Britons, while only having adopted Anglo-Saxon culture and language. The DNA test are conflicting, so the final piece of evidence is the actual physical appearance of modern day Englishmen and Welshmen. Is there a noticeable difference between Welsh people and English people in terms of how they look? Please only serious answers folks.

Thanks Rustskip, but I was hoping somebody could form an opinion about the physical appearances of the English and the Welsh, and if there were significant differences in the general population. In other words, do the English have a higher rate of blondism? Are they taller? Do they look more like Welsh people, or more like Germans and Dutch people? Maybe somebody could post a couple of links to pictures of English celebs and Welsh celebs, or just provide their own personal observations.
