Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: The Kenites were early associates of the Hebrews. Their position and relationship is not enntirely clear, but they seem to have shared the religion of Moses. Certain Americans (including Mormons) regarded this as black skin, a sign of inferiority of those of African descent. The mark has also been interepreted as a clan tatoo.
