Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: You could try and get the marriage certificate (only helpful if you know who she married and it was before 1837 as records before that are patchy!).

Or, you could try and get her death certificate,(again presuming she lived past 1837) this MAY tell you who the certificate was sent to, therefore you may find out her husbands name that way, which in turn could lead to the marriage records from the applicable church.

There are several Mary's in the death records.

Mary Ann Gascoyne died in 1837 in quarter 3(Q3) in Woburn Beds.

Mary Ann Gascoyne died in 1846 Q4 in Potterspury, Bucks.

Mary Gascoyne died 1847 Q2, in Potterspury Bucks.

Mary Gascoyne died 1838 Q4, Brackley Bucks.

I didn't check anywhere except Beds and Bucks though.

There are no Mary Gascoyne's listed at all in any census, 1861-1901 born in the year 1816, so she a) must have died before 1861 or remarried and therefore had a different surname.
