hello
my grandmother is romanian but her maiden name is Chuzum. i wonder if she has Turkish ancestry because the name sounds turkish. anybody with turkish background know?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: i am from Romania.. and it is possible that your grandmother is from a zone called Dobrogea (in south, between the danube river and the black sea) in which there is quite a big Turkish influence..

thus, our history is full of bloody battles with the Turkish armies, but some of them were won by the Romanians and their leaders,

to me, the name doesn`t really sound neither romanian, nor turkish, i just wanted you to know that there is a chance that your grandmother`s name could be a Turkish one
